If you are not happy with the services being provided by your civil lawyer or civil attorney you should take into consideration the possibility of letting him/her go. There are many factors you should keep in mind before making the decision to fire your current civil lawyer. Just in case you are in urgent need of a civil attorney you should keep the one you currently have and search for a new civil attorney to replace him/her before you have your current one fired. If you are looking to let your civil lawyer go you shouldn’t feel bad about anything because they wouldn’t be getting fired if they had done their job correctly. There is a proper way to go about firing your civil attorney so that you do not waste any time. Your civil lawyer may try to pressure you into backpedaling but as long as you know your information you should have no problems with firing him/her.

Step 1 – Make sure you review the agreement or contract that was signed with your civil attorney to check if you would be violating any rules that were set about terminating the services of your civil lawyer. Most contracts have statements that state that you must provide your civil attorney with a written notification that you wish to terminate their services. Review the contract to make sure what charges might incur or what percentage you must pay the civil lawyer in the instance that you win your case. In an incident such as now where you are looking to hire a new civil attorney, you need to clearly let your current lawyer know what did not work out for you and what your issues are only if it is stated to do so in the contract. Resolving out the financial aspect with your old civil lawyer may be the messiest part of the firing process.

Step 2 – In respect to the potential new civil attorney you are looking to hire you should inform them of what exactly happened with your case up to this point. You should inform them of what happened with your old civil lawyer and why things did not work out. You should also present to them the work that your old civil lawyer had done up to this point so that they can give you their own input on what you should do next. You should be more knowledgeable before you seek your new civil attorney just in case they try to take advantage of your situation. You may be feeling vulnerable and let down from your previous civil attorney and you don’t want to have leeway to be taken advantage of.

Step 3 – Present your civil lawyer with the final notification in writing that you are terminating his/her services. As mentioned before you do not need to mention anything else in this written notice to your civil attorney unless it was stated in the contract that you signed to do otherwise. Most contracts state that you do not have to have a specific reason told to your civil lawyer as to why you are firing him/her.

One of the unique aspects of the American justice system is the fact that certain civil rights are still maintained among those who are incarcerated in prison. Unlike many other countries throughout the world, those who are imprisoned can still practice some of their civil rights and consult with civil lawyers occasionally. Civil lawyers play a huge role in the American justice system, and without civil lawyers, the most basic foundations of the U.S. legislation and jurisdictions would be severely compromised. Civil lawyers hold a great deal of responsibility when it comes to representing the civil rights of not only the innocent, but also those who are found guilty and are currently serving time in jails.

Anybody and everybody living on American soil possess the basic civil rights as listed in the U.S. Constitution. This is perhaps one of the major factors of why so many people from other countries strive to live in the states and pursue the American Dream. Many of us do not realize the importance of our civil rights, and too often we take these civil rights for granted. Even those who are locked up in a jail cell day in and day out are allowed the most basic civil rights.

Protecting the civil rights of an inmate however, poses quite a challenge, especially for those civil lawyers representing these inmates. Civil lawyers already face no small feat in protecting the civil rights of innocent Americans. Once incarcerated, however, the importance of basic civil rights multiplies, and the difficulty of protecting these civil rights becomes harder as well.

If you know anybody who is currently serving time in prison, educate yourself of what civil rights that an inmate still possesses. Consulting with civil lawyers specializing in criminal cases may help a great deal. Be aware of what type of trial was held when the sentence was given. Any good civil lawyers will tell you it is important to know all the facts before making any premature judgments, especially in criminal cases when one’s civil rights are at stake.

Publicize and attract the support of the general public to strengthen your case against violations of civil rights. Many people will be hesitant at first to support someone who is already incarcerated in prison, but it is a known fact that our justice system is not fail-proof and a countless amount of inmates currently serving time are doing so wrongfully accused and convicted. Again, consult with civil lawyers to get information about appealing any cases in which you believe the wrong judgment was made. Hiring civil lawyers to represent you is also a good idea if you are serious about appealing on another’s behalf. Gain as much support as you can, not only through civil lawyers and the general public, but take an extra step and write a letter to various Congressmen and representatives in the Senate. This is no easy task which requires dedication and patience, but protecting the civil rights of every person on American soil is essential to upholding the foundation of the U.S. Constitution.
