Abiding to the many different civil laws and respecting the civil rights of others is crucial when it comes to the necessary civilized working environment all across America. There are particular civil laws that must be followed no matter where you are. The office in which you work at should enforce all of the federal laws that pertain to your civil rights. There may be difficulties when it comes to enforcing civil laws in the office because everyone is a grown adult that should be respecting each others’ civil rights on their own without being told what to do. If you feel that somebody is not respecting your civil rights you should be aware of what to do about it. Somebody may be violating civil laws and you might not even realize it because you are not aware of what laws should be put into place to begin with.
First, accustom yourself with all of the civil laws that exist currently. You can do so by checking what civil rights are listed on the internet. If you are unable to do so you can feel free to speak with any civil rights attorneys that are near your location. The attorney that you choose to contact should have a current list of all of the United States civil laws that are required.
Secondly, you should contact your HR [human resources] department at the office and make sure that they hold a current copy of the civil rights and civil laws as well. Not only should your office have a copy of them, they should be putting them into effect throughout every working day. You should also inquire if your office is an EEOC, which stands for Equal Employment Opportunity Corporation. If they are, this will help you to enforce any civil rights violations that might occur.
After you find out the required information regarding to the civil laws that should be encouraged and strictly implemented in the office you should keep an eye out to see if they are actually being followed or not. You should look out for such incidents that could occur with sexual discrimination, gender discrimination, religious discrimination, cultural profiling, and any others of the many forms of discrimination. All of these are severe violations towards anyone’s civil rights.
If you are to find anyone’s civil rights being violated you should take note and do something to confront the situation. If your office has incidents where the civil laws are being broken it is highly illegal and can be heavily persecuted. Be sure to head straight to your HR department if you feel that any civil rights laws are being broken. The EEOC can also be reported to in regards to the civil laws that are being desecrated. You should go ahead and look for a civil rights attorney to see what you should do about the civil laws that are being dishonored at your office. Knowing all of the civil laws to the best of your ability will help you to go forth with your complaint. You should first seek an attorney and the EEOC before filing anything by the national level.
